There are so many types of Yoga. Come try a class to discover which type is right for you.
All classes are one hour in length. Please bring a Yoga mat, a towel, some water and an open mind. Yoga is practiced bare-footed and please try not to eat 2 hours prior to class. During class, we will focus on relaxation. If you find yourself holding your breath or straining at any point, come down to a restorative pose called child's pose and regain that relaxation.
You can make Yoga as challenging or restorative as you wish. Try not to hold any expectations for yourself. Every day is different for your body, listen to your body and honor it. There is no competition or judgement in Yoga. As long as your breath is flowing in and out, you are doing Yoga. -

Karen Simmons - YogaFit™ Instructor
From an early age, Karen has had a passion for fitness and spirituality. She studied ballet as a child and throughout her college years, and danced professionally with the New York Ballet. She discovered Yoga during those years in New York, and found that Yoga provided a relaxing complement to ease sore, tight muscles and to mentally escape the pressures of intense training and performances. Throughout her years of formal study and education as a Yoga instructor, her constant goal is to share with others the peace and relaxation with others that Yoga brought to her own life. Namaste.
The lotus flower is one of the most ancient and deepest symbols of our planet and is highly represented in Yoga. The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again. Untouched by the impurity, the lotus symbolizes the purity of heart and mind. The lotus flower represents long life, health, honor, and good luck. Lotus position is easy seat (crossed legs) with hands resting comfortably on your knees.
"May we always approach our physical practice with deep appreciation, to be in these bodies, to move, to breath, to feel, to sweat–what a gift! And may your Yoga practice enhance your growth, sensitivity, and awareness." -Beth Shaw, President and Founder of YogaFit™ -
